Dermot O’Leary took on the glitziest job of the year as presenter of the 16th National Television Awards, which were broadcast to the nation on TV last night. Winners on the night included David Jason, Bruce Forsythe and Ant and Dec.
Ant and Dec remain the crowned kings of television as they accepted their 10th award for Best Presenter. The duo were not at the awards but speaking live from Cardiff, Ant said they were “So so happy” with Dec adding that they were “humbled and honoured”.
Consummate all-round entertainer Bruce Forsythe picked up the Special Recognition accolade. The gong was presented by comedian Stephen Fry who described Brucie as "a legend".
The QI host, who won the same award last year, added: "That is a word that is often overused but in this case never more deservedly."
TV legend David Jason was awarded Best Drama performance for his role in ITV 1’s A Touch of Frost.
