Last night new Dragons' Den star Hilary Devey joined the four remaining Dragons for the start of the news series on BBC2.
The show is in its ninth series and Hilary joined the inimitable Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne, and Deborah Meaden. Hilary has admired the show for years and has worked her way up from being Senior Sales Manager with parcel delivery service TNT to founding Pall-Ex in the late 1990s.
Hilary is now a self-made multi-millionaire success story, paving the way not only for hard work and business acumen, but also leading the way as a woman in a traditionally make-domiated business. As Hilary says, "Though it is an entertaining programme, and, let's face it, some good business ideas do slip through the net because the entrepreneurs fudge their pitches or the sums just don't add up, Dragons' Den does get people thinking about self-reliance, sacrifice and having the guts to develop a business idea and then be brave enough to hold it up for scrutiny - for better or for worse!"
Previous stars who have thrived as a result of the Dragons' support include Levi Roots and Kirsty Henshaw. We will keep an eye out for the budding entrepreneurs in this series - check out Episode 2 this Sunday 7th August at 9pm on BBC2.
