‘Ask Rhod Gilbert’ starts tonight at 10.35pm on BBC One. Team captains Lloyd Langford and Edinburgh Comedy Award 2010 nominee Greg Davies will be joined by guest stars Jo Brand, Amanda Byram and Kate Silverton for a brand new take on the comedy panel show hosted by Rhod Gilbert. The show will feature an ‘Ask Jeeves’ format where showbiz personalities and members of the public will put questions to both teams and awards host and news presenter Kate Silverton will perform the role of ‘Authenticator’.
The show will be a 40 minute interactive extravaganza featuring not only archive clips and studio demonstrations but also live phone calls and visual link-ups. Rhod commented "I'm thrilled to be on BBC1 tackling head-on the type of baffling questions that keep me awake at night."
Rhod has been incredibly busy of late with his tour dates as well as radio and TV commitments. Having released his first live DVD last November ‘Rhod Gilbert and the Award-Winning Mince Pie’ to critical acclaim he has gone from strength to strength and is due to release his new DVD ‘Rhod Gilbert and the Cat That Looked Like Nicholas Lyndhurst’ this November after filming took place at the Hammersmith Apollo. Rhod also starred in Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow in August and his new show on BBC Radio 4 kicked off this month and will continue every Saturday at 10pm. The show entitled ‘Rhod Gilbert’s Bulging Barrel of Laughs’ stars regular guests including Edinburgh Comedy 2010 Award nominee Sarah Millican as well as guest stand-ups and music from Divine Comedy, Scouting for Girls and Athlete.
So if you are in need of a laugh tonight to stave off the Monday blues, sit back and relax and let Rhod entertain you!
