Todd Carty is voted off ITV's Dancing on Ice

9th February 2009

Todd Carty became the latest celebrity to leave ITV's Dancing On Ice after appearing in the skate-off with Ellery Hanley.

Accident-prone Todd had been dubbed the John Sergeant of the series having been saved by the public vote despite crashing off the set and slipping over mid-routine in the previous two episodes.

He managed to stay on his feet this time round but was awarded the lowest score by the judges yet again and finally found himself at their mercy in the bottom two.

And with four votes out of five, ex-rugby star Ellery and partner Frankie Poultney survived the skate-off with their performance of Boogie Wonderland to send Todd home.

Upon hearing the result the former star of EastEnders and The Bill said: "I'd like to thank every one of the British public from the bottom of my heart."

Todd also thanked partner Susie Lipanova and said: "I'm going to have a rest and maybe try another sport."

Singer Ray Quinn achieved the highest score of the week after skating to Jamiroquai's Canned Heat with partner Maria Filippov and is the bookies favourite to win this year's show.

Other celebrities still in with a chance are Donal MacIntyre, Coleen Nolan, Roxanne Pallett, Zoe Salmon, Jessica Taylor and Melinda Messinger.

Michael Underwood, Graeme Le Saux, Jeremy Edwards and Gemma Bissix were voted off in previous weeks.

The show is once again hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
