Former CEO of Minolta Europe, Akio Miyabayashi became Senior Corporate Adviser of Minolta worldwide on his retirement and is one of the few outstanding Japanese businessmen in Europe.

Rising through the ranks of Minolta, he was responsible for the launch of Minolta Europe. Steering the company through a period of such huge change was very much due to his clear understanding of global competitiveness and cultural differences.

Under his control, staffing numbers increased from 17 in the ‘60s to over 5,000 in the ‘90s.  Having developed a culture of total quality and customer care, Minolta has become a major player in the European market, with 44 companies and subsidiaries and 2 factories in Europe.
