Alex Zane Biography

Alex Zane presents his own show on Sky Movies 'Alex Zane's Guest List' and is also the lead film reviewer for The Sun. The comedian and former presenter of Popworld is a fantastic awards host and presenter.

Alex Zane began his stand-up comedy career at the age of 18 as a finalist in an open-mic competition called So You Think You're Funny. Starting out in radio, whilst at medical school Alex presented The Alex Zane Show on UCL's student radio station Rare FM.

From here, he presented on Wired FM, which led to his own show on London alternative station Xfm. His radio show was heard by MTV producers, who scouted him to present shows such as Screenplay and TRL. After a stint at presenting the breakfast show on Xfm Alex moved to the Friday evening show on NME radio.

He co-presented Popworld and the Popworld Radio podcast with Alexa Chung until the programme ended a year later. Since his breakthrough he has made appearances on countless Channel 4 entertainment programmes such as The Law of the Playground, 8 out of 10 cats and Balls of Steel.

Continuing his career in the presenting industry, Alex hosted E4's coverage of Channel 4's hoax reality show Space Cadets, Death Wish Live, the Digital Music Awards and Carling Live 24. He has also presented television coverage of several large scale music events, including the V Festival, and the Wireless Festival. He presented Celebrity Scissorhands first on BBC Three, then on BBC One, as part of the BBC's Children in Need charity campaign. He also presented the scintillating funny Rude Tube and is on the team for Sky movies presenting his own show Alex Zane's Guest List. He is a well-respected authority on the presenting circuit.

Drawing on his past love comedy, Alex written material for Channel 4’s The Eleven O’clock Show, Smack the Pony, BBC Three’s Brain Candy, and ITV1’s The Sketch Show.
