For over 25 years Richard worked in International motorsport and Formula 1 Motor Racing, and has raised over 165 million US Dollars in sponsorship revenues in his various senior positions with Mclaren, Arrows and Williams, and Jaguar. He was also Championship Administrator of the British Touring Car Championship.
Richard’s deep understanding of the industry and what drives it, comes from his successful relationships with the biggest names in the sport, including Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill and David Coulthard. Through his experience, relationships and analysis, he is uniquely placed to discuss how leadership and communication can be maximised in today’s highly competitive business world.
Richard is also a successful author. He has published three books, including ‘Performance at the Limit-Business Lessons from Formula 1 Motor Racing’ which was released in four separate editions in both English and Japanese. In 2007-2008 this book was used as the inspiration for the award winning BBC World eight part TV documentary ‘Formula for Success’, which Richard co–presented and produced.
