Sara Davies

Sara Davies MBE is the visionary founder and creative director of Crafter’s Companion, a renowned name in the craft industry born from humble beginnings in County Durham. During her business management studies at York University, Sara identified a market need for a crafting tool, leading to the creation of The Enveloper with her father's assistance. This product became an overnight success, selling thousands within months and setting the stage for a range of innovative crafting solutions.

Under Sara's leadership, Crafter’s Companion has grown significantly, now offering an extensive range of papercraft, sewing, needlecraft, and art materials. The company serves customers in 40 countries, employs over 200 people, and maintains its roots in the North East of England with additional operations in the US.

Sara’s entrepreneurial spirit has been recognised globally, earning her over 30 awards, including the Queen’s Award for International Trade and an MBE for her services to the economy. She continues to make her mark on television, appearing on shows like BBC’s Dragons’ Den and Strictly Come Dancing, and promotes crafting through her books and her new BBC show "Making It with Sara Davies".

An advocate for women in business and a mentor, Sara remains committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in her beloved North East.
