Kell Ryan Biography
Kell Ryan has over forty years of extensive airline experience with a comprehensive knowledge that spans the aviation field including operations, customer service training, marketing, sales public relations and media communications. One of the founding members of Ryanair, Kell is much in demand as a keynote speaker.
His Career in Aviation
Kell spent 24 years working for the Irish national airline Aer lingus where he was responsible for all operations, passenger and other airline handling contracts at London Heathrow Airport.
He then joined in Ryanair in its embryonic stage. The company was conceptualised and financed by Dr T.A.Ryan, Kell's older brother. Working unrelentingly to revolutionise and change air travel within Europe, Ryanair's business model has made air travel affordable to all and changed the way people fly and even the way society works.
Kell headed the major and crucial transfer of establishing the airline to, the then little known airport Stansted and has spent the last few years primarily promoting and marketing Ryanair within Europe and North Africa. He has been extensively involved in tourism and travel, developing new and unexplored regions to visit.
Kell is proud to be a member of the pioneering team that has changed travel within Europe. In 1985 Ryanair carried 5000 passengers, and is now the largest low cost airline in Europe, expecting to carry 60 million passengers in 2008.
Kell has chaired and is involved with many tourism forums within Ireland, England, Wales the Channel Islands and mainland Europe. Kell is a strong advocate of higher education, and is currently involved with universities in Ireland, England, Germany and in the United States of America where he is also on the advisory board for the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Spreading the Message
Kell takes great delight in passing on his knowledge, enthusiasm and love of Aviation and Tourism. He provides an insight into Ryanairs success and the changing nature of aviation in Europe, company culture, leadership, motivation and most importantly of all for any company the unrelenting control of costs. This of course can be applied to any business.
Kell has the ability, the wit, the stories and the anecdotes of the industry to captivate any audience, along with his passion for aviation.
As an international speaker Kell has addressed companies in both formal and relaxed venues with numbers ranging from 25 to 1500 delegates. Tailoring his speech to any audience or requested theme.

I must say thank you very much for your contribution to the awards dinner last night Ive received many very positive comments from my client and attendees this morning and want to pass on my gratitude to you.
it was a pleasure to have you speak at the event. I believe we have asked you to come and speak at another Yorkshire Forward event in Yorkshire in May so I may well see you again there.
It was a pleasure meeting you in November. Many thanks for making it convenient to address our colleagues at the Forum. I am really impressed with your leadership in building a world-class company. There are lots of lessons to be learnt from your success story. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you again in the future.
Many thanks Kell it was really great to have you there & to meet Glen All those I spoke to found the insight you provided into starting up Ryan Air absolutely fascinating - & Im sure they took away a lot of points to think about!
So thanks again, & certainly if you come to Stamford let us know. In the meantime good luck with what I see the Times calls an audacious bid
Thank you so much for giving so generously of your time to come and speak to our Enterprise Tuesday attendees. We had a great evening and have received very positive feedback regarding the talk. You may be interested to know that we broke a record in terms of number of attendees with around 420 coming to hear your talk. Thank you too for taking time to talk to people informally during the networking; this is much appreciated. As you may know, Enterprise Tuesday is one of CfEL flagship programmes and one in which we take great pride but it would not be the success that it is if it were not for the commitment and dedication of speakers such as yourself. We really appreciate your enthusiasm to be part of the programme and help CfEL spread the spirit of enterprise.
The feedback we have received from the evening has been very positive and you played a big part is making it a success. Please do come and see us if you are ever in the area.
All the feedback I have received was very positive in the sense that it was a real wake up call to all of us on how any company can be threatened at any time by a another company that comes along with a completely disruptive strategy. We all enjoyed the humor, which of course was expected from an Irishman, and the very down to earth, pragmatic and wise recommendations.
I wanted to drop you a note to say a very big thank you for giving up your time to speak at our lunch in Aberdeen. Since then I've enjoyed hearing so many great comments about you. All the committee have said they thought you were a lovely man and they very much enjoyed hearing what you had to say. So unusual they said for a man in the business world to be such a gentleman! I thought you did a great job and got everything just right for the ladies on the day. The right balance of serious talk and humour.
