Roger Camrass Biography
Roger Camrass, innovation champion, is a respected international business leader with 35 years of experience in consulting, management and entrepreneurship. He is a highly respected and experienced keynote speaker.
Background and career
Roger has worked in both the public and private sectors, helping companies to navigate through periods of intense technological, social and economic change. Above all, Roger’s passion for his work is energising and motivating as he enthuses audiences to achieve exceptional levels of performance and commitment.
Roger is has been an executive director of Fujitsu in Europe, a faculty member of ESADE business school in Spain, and a director of a US based hedge fund, Knoll Capital Management. He has been a successful business executive, management consultant and entrepreneur and has advised many of the Fortune 1000 companies such as American Express, Barclays, BP, BT, Coca-Cola, IBM, Henkel, Philips, Vodafone and Unilever. He has also advised large public bodies such as the UK Department of Works and Pensions and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs on policy and organisational issues.
His career has included positions in both large and small enterprises and spans three decades of dramatic technological progress – from the first microprocessors to the Human Genome Project. His recent book, The Atomic Corporation: a Rational Proposal for Uncertain Times (Capstone-Wiley, 2001) has been republished worldwide as a paper back: Atomic: Reforming the business landscape into the new structures of tomorrow (2004).
His book Atomic: Reforming the business landscape into the new structures of tomorrow (Capstone-Wiley, 2003) captures many of the profound changes he has witnessed in his career. He explores new sources of potential value in the connected economy and argues that the most important corporate assets today are based on relationships and trust rather than tangible objects. The book was translated into Russian in October and is now available in that market.
Roger has published a number of technical books including Wiring up the Workplace (IBC 1986) and has authored many articles on subjects ranging from consumer futures to IT and business strategy.
He has been associated with Universities and Business Schools as a visiting lecturer, and spent five years as a Senior Associate with the Judge Business School at Cambridge (2001-5) where he helped develop an executive education program. He is a fellow of Bristol University and has just been appointed a member of the faculty of ESADE Business School in Spain. His speaking topics focus around ‘Leading in the Digital Age’.
Roger is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Commerce and a member of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
He is now adopting ‘Big Change’ as a primary theme, and speaks about innovation and associated changes in IT.
Influential in shaping the ‘digital’ world of today, Roger has acquired deep experience in every major wave of technological change associated with the ‘digital world’ that influences all aspect of business today.
As head of business transformation at Fujitsu’s European arm, Roger transformed the struggling company which was nearly bankrupt and losing every competitive bid. His task was to put Fujitsu at the top table of IT vendors – and he did it, by turning the company upside down to win and deliver business. He created a total transformation in their service offers, production platforms and marketing messages.
His CEO at Fujitsu is now Roger’s new partner in a start-up venture, Mozaic Services.
