Weather presenter Andrea McLean has bowed out of GMTV after more than a decade on the show.
Among the tributes paid, the 39-year-old was told by anchor Kate Garraway: "You light up the screen. Everybody loves you."
During the programme, McLean was shown clips of her highlights, which included pop stars Donny Osmond and Will Young.
Andrea joined GMTV in June l997. Born in Glasgow, she spent her childhood in Trinidad and Tobago and returned to England when she was l5. In June 1996, she joined the Weather Channel, where she received daily briefings from the Met Office and presented regular reports. During the same period she also worked as a weather reporter for Talk Radio. The following year she worked on Five's talk show Espresso as one of the programme's panellists.
Andrea, dressed for the chilly weather in jeans, told viewers it would be "cold and dark" as the clock strikes 12, joking: "Tomorrow I won't care because I won't be doing this any more."
As she finished her presentation, the weather screen changed to bear a "goodbye and good luck" message from the Met Office.
Andrea is going on to present another ITV1 show - Loose Women - full time. She is of course, available for corporate engagements and is a wonderful awards host and compere for any occassion
