If you live in London you may have noticed that there has been an increase in the number of A-list celebrities roaming our streets. It’s officially Awards Season, which means the biggest awards ceremonies of the year are taking place including the BAFTA’s, the Brits and the Oscars.
The BAFTA’s took place as they always do in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and were hosted by the wonderful Stephen Fry, who as always added an extra touch of class to the event. Steve Coogan won an award for his film Philomena staring himself and Judy Dench. Other winners on the evening included Barkhad Abdi for his performance in Captain Philips and Cate Blanchett for her role in Blue Jasmine.
The Brits took place last night and were hosted by James Corden, they were attended by celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Ferne Cotton and footballer Cesc Fabregas. Winners included One Direction, Arctic Monkeys and David Bowie.
The next prestigious award ceremony taking place this month is the Oscars, the annual event will take place in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre and will be hosted by US comedian, Ellen Degeneres.
Hosting an awards ceremony is not as easy as it looks even for consummate professionals such as Stephen Fry and James Corden. If something goes wrong during the event, hosts are expected to distract audiences and to keep everything flowing.
Some of our favourite awards hosts are names you will recognise such as Gethin Jones, Clare Balding, Alex Jones and Rory Bremner. Our awards hosts range from comedians such as Dara O’Briain and David Mitchell to sports stars including Jonathan Edwards and Steve Parry. We can always rely on the awards hosts we work with to add humour and charm to a corporate event.
