Inspirational and influential speaker, Sir Bob Geldof, has received the Freedom of the City of London due to his services to music and his outstanding contribution to International Social Justice and peace.
Bob received his award at a ceremony at the Guildhall, London. The award is an exceptional honour and the first of its kind was given in 1237.
Bob was awarded a Freedom award from his native city, Dublin in 2006 for his humanitarian activities. The 62 year old, Live Aid hero has also been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in the past.
In other news Bob revealed that he would be travelling into space next year in a one hour commercial space flight with private company Space XC for a grand total of 75,000.
Bob is one of one hundred people who will be travelling into space with Space XC, speaking about his future adventure; he stated “I will wear the tricolor. There is no question of that. I am not nationalistic but I am proud of being Irish. I will be proud of being the first Irishman to leave the planet”.
