Sustainability speaker Dan Germain was awarded the Designer of the Year award in the Drum’s inaugural Designerati, the book was recently published and is a new platform that ranks the UK’s top designers.
The Designerati book looks at more than 100 of the UK’s most innovative and talented designers and focuses on industries such as ‘technology, interiors, fashion and retail.’ Dan is the head of Brand and Creative at Innocent and his profile in the Designerati looks at his career and acknowledges the fact that he started off without any formal training as a designer.
Dan is delighted to have been named ‘Designer of the Year’ by the Drum and over twitter has shown his thanks to those who have helped him build his career. He also tweeted ‘Very proud to be named designer of the year. I’m fortunate that my team at Innocent make me look good.’
Second place in the Drum’s Designerati book went to Sir Jonathan Ive, the Senior Vice President of design at Apple and third place went to Ben Eine, a graphic street artist.
Other names that made the list included designers Gerardine and Wayne Hemingway, fashion designer Paul Smith and product designer Sir James Dyson.
