Google are set to release the Explorer Edition of the Google Glass headset and hope to have the eyewear in the hands of programmers before the next I/O conference.
Google have formed an investment group called The Glass Collective, which involves Google Ventures joining up with Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in order to fund the new concept.
The glasses are set to be the next big thing in a new wave of technology and are the first of their kind; however they have already caused controversy in the US. Lawmakers want the glasses band when driving, as they are deemed a distraction, in the UK privacy campaigners want the glasses restricted in public places.
The release date of the Google Glass will be announced next month.
