Awards host and TV presenter, Katie Derham, made the decision to move from ITN to present for the BBC.
Katie worked as a news reader at ITN for an impressive 12 years and her decision to leave was not met with any bad feeling. A source at ITN stated that, “There is no row. Katie just felt that it was time to look at different things”.
Katie has a significant amount of experience presenting; she was the youngest national newsreader on British television when she began with ITN at the age of 27.
Her new position at the BBC is a non news role, where she presents at events such as the PROMS. In addition to this, she will be a part of the presenting team at BBC 2 and Radio 3.
