Have you ever wondered if you are a psychopath? Professor Kevin Dutton is the person to ask. In his first book ‘The Wisdoms of Psychopaths’, he explored the positive side of being a psychopath and his new book will be released next month.
The title of the new book is ‘The Good Psychopaths Guide to Success, How to use your inner psychopath to get the most out of life’. Kevin wrote the book with Andy McNab, a motivational speaker, former soldier and a good psychopath.
The pair met a couple of years ago when Kevin invited Andy to a laboratory to take a Clockwork Orange style personality test and the results found that Andy had similar personality traits to a psychopath but was in fact a good psychopath. This means that ‘Unlike a bad psychopath, he is able to dial up or down qualities such as ruthlessness, fearlessness, conscience and empathy to get the very best out of himself – and others – in a wide range of situations.’
In the book Kevin and Andy discuss the 7 simple psychopathic principles to make you more successful and ‘together they have explored the ways in which a good psychopath thinks differently and what that could mean for you. What do you really want from life, and how can you develop and use qualities such as charm, coolness under pressure, self-confidence and courage to get it?’
