Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Climb on BBC One tonight

12th March 2009

An extraordinary gathering of talent from both the music industry and the world of entertainment - Gary Barlow, Ronan Keating, Chris Moyles, Ben Shephard, Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Fearne Cotton, Alesha Dixon and Denise Van Outen - attempt to scale Africa's highest mountain to raise as much money as possible for Comic Relief. The funds they raise will be used to tackle malaria, which kills a child every 30 seconds across Africa.

The programme is followed by Comic Relief Does the Apprentice, in which the boys compete against the girls to design a toy, create a television ad campaign and pitch it to industry experts. The girls team consists of Ruby Wax, Carol Vorderman, Patsy Palmer, Fiona Phillips and Michelle Mone. The boys team is made up of Jonathan Ross (who has promised to be good), Jack Dee, Gok Wan and Gerald Ratner.

Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Climb and Comic Relief Does the Apprentice on BBC One tonight at 8pm and 9pm
