This week is National Chocolate Week and this year the Salon du Chocolat takes place in London, believed to be the largest chocolate show in the world.
Various chocolate themed events have taken place this month around the UK in affiliation with National Chocolate Week. The Salon du Chocolat put on demonstrations and workshops with famous chefs such as Eric Lanlard, there is also a chocolate themed fashion show where all the clothes are crafted from chocolate.
Other events which have taken place include ‘Blood and Chocolate’, which is a landmark theatre event, half of which is a walking tour and the other half is a multimedia experience. The show is based in York and tells the story of the impact WWI on the chocolate factory workers in York.
There is a chocolate moulding class, which takes places in Colchester and a Chocolate Tree Open Day in Haddington, Scotland. One of the main events taking place in London is ‘An Evening of Fine Tequila and Fine Chocolate’, where chocolatier Paul A. Young and Aqua Riva Tequila expert Cleo Rocos. The pair will be sharing their knowledge with the guests in an enclosed bar setting, guests will get to enjoy some cocoa flavoured tequila.
