No Rest for Olympic Boxer Nicola Adams

28 June 2013

Nicola Adams life has changed dramatically since becoming the first woman to win a gold medal for boxing at the London 2012 Olympics.

Nicola began her career as a boxer aged 13 and after 17 years of hard work, she is now the proud owner of an Olympic gold medal and has been awarded an MBE.

It seems Nicola has kept herself busy since her win, taking on the role of president of the charity Us Girls, which helps girls from disadvantaged area’s get involved in sport.

Nicola’s celebrity status has also risen, having received offers to star in TV shows and unveil iconic landmarks; she can no longer go to the supermarket without being mobbed by fans.

However, Nicola has her eyes firmly on the prize and she is already back in training in preparation for the European Union Championships and 2014’s Commonwealth Games.

Watch out for Nicola as she continues to make more boxing history.
