Keynote speaker and author of ‘The Gold Mine Effect’, Rasmus Ankersen has revealed that he is a fan of the low budget airline, Ryan Air.
Ryan Air is currently Europe’s biggest airline with more than 70 million passengers flying with them each year and in 2012 they made a profit of 550 million Euros. Although the airline is successful they were also named the UK’s worst family brand and are not always known for their outstanding customer service.
Rasmus believes that the reasons for Ryan Air’s success lie in the company’s ability to be honest about their brand and because they focus on what is really important. He believes that they are honest in that they do not pretend to be something that they are not and what you see is what you get.
In Rasmus’ opinion Ryan Air does what it needs to do and gets customers from their departure gate to their destination safely and they land on time on more than 90% of their departures.
The point that Rasmus is trying to get across is that although Ryan Air may not be best known for their customer service they are an example of how a company can still be successful if they do two things sufficiently better than everyone else.
