The Outdoors Show will be taking place in London this week from Thursday 13th January until Sunday 16th January. The outdoors extravaganza will feature an array of exciting workshops, exhibits and activities including rock and ice climbing, mountain boarding taster sessions, and a fully fledged wilderness camp to teach you all the skills of the great outdoors.
The event is a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow fans of the outdoors – whether your interests are walking, wildlife or more advanced extreme sports – and the main highlight is the Outdoor Heroes Theatre. Keynote speakers including Ray Mears, Simon King, Ben Fogle, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Riaan Manser and Sir Ranulph Fiennes will all be ready and raring to go with their inspiring tales of the incredible and some fieldcraft tips for your own adventures!
65 year old Sir Ranulph Fiennes has been described as the world’s greatest living explorer and a greatly admired and loved keynote, motivational and after dinner speaker. His exploits range from running 7 marathons in 7 days in 7 continents to climbing Everest and the Eiger, as well as circumnavigating the globe via its polar axis. As our lovely colleague Helena says, "Ranulph has his audience entranced right from the word go! His ability to underplay his incredible achievements and to laugh at himself make him appear very humble – and yet, hearing of his amazing achievements, confirms what a legend he really is! A great role model showing determination and resilience. For me, it was an honour to hear him speak."
