Business speaker and former CEO of Tesco, Sir Terry Leahy stepped down from his position at Tesco in 2011 at the age of 55, he has since started working with several charities, invested in small businesses and written a book.
Sir Terry’s book ‘Management in 10 Words’ draws on his experience at Tesco and advises people on how to become a successful manager.
Sir Terry began working in Tesco’s marketing department at the age of 23 and had worked his way up to CEO by the age of 40. He decided in 2011, after 14 years as CEO, that it was time to move on and since leaving Tesco he has been able to live a more relaxed lifestyle.
However Sir Terry is still working and is involved with the businesses he has invested in, he stated that ‘I love being involved in the creative side of things-I still find that very fulfilling. I’m not as busy as I was at Tesco’.
