Speakers Corner are delighted to welcome Brighton-based newcomer Seann Walsh to the corporate comedy scene. Seann has won the Comedian Of The Year title at the Leicester Comedy Festival. The comic, who was also runner-up in last year’s So You Think You're Funny? new act competition.
All finalists in the contest, sponsored by the Leicester Mercury, are nominated by clubs around the county.
Fergus Craig took the runner-up place, while Chris Stokes was placed third. Other finalists were Joe Bor, Carl Hutchinson, Tom Adams, Grainne Maguire and Chris Ramsey.
Seann has a genuine buzz about him on the circuit, he has that spark, that exciting unquantifiable quality that makes audiences and critics sit up and take notice and has had him heralded as one of the most exciting new talents of the last 10 years.
Seann is currently touring with another Speakers Corner favourite, Stephen K Amos.
"Although amere newcomer Brighton-based Seann Walsh’s writing is near-impeccable, his sharp set dense with punchlines, often followed up with cascading taglines to wring every last drop of humour out of a set-up without seeming desperate. He has an appealing, natural delivery, too, making him much more assured than his new act status would suggest."
"Brighton-based comic Walsh is this generation's Dylan Moran, with the looks, gags and charm to become something quite special"
"...his shambolic stumbling hits the mark he has the audience in howls."
