The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg has finally met Facebook founder Mark Zuckerbeg face-to-face - on national TV.
As Eisenberg started introducing Saturday Night Live, the camera cut to the real billionaire with the show’s executive producer Lorne Michaels backstage.
"Why can't I go in there? I'm the real Mark Zuckerberg!" he asked. "Come on. I invented Poking!"
Finally, the two ‘Zuckerberg's’ came together on-stage.
The meeting took place as Facebook launched its Deals service in the UK. The social network site has joined forces with a number of brands, including Debenhams, O2, Yo! Sushi and Starbucks, to launch the service.
The service is part of Facebook’s geo-location efforts, called Places, which enables brands to offer location-based promotions to people who use their mobile to ‘check in’ to locations through their Facebook page.
Joanna Shields, Facebook vice-president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, said the site is built around people sharing personal experiences, adding that the new platform is a "great extension" of this.
"By bringing valuable and relevant offers to you wherever and whenever you want them, Deals delivers a powerful experience that combines technology and location in a way that a pure online or offline experience could never deliver," Shields added.
