The Daily Beast’s annual ‘Women in the World’ summit took place this week; launched by the publications editor-in-chief, Tina Brown, in March 2010.
The aim of the summit is to bring women together from all over the world, from different walks of life, to share stories and discuss the challenges and triumphs they have experienced. The summit hopes to inspire and unite women.
Speakers at the summit include high profile celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Hillary Clinton and Meryl Streep. Tina Brown will be speaking at the lecture podium and she will invigorate audiences with her mantra for demanding equal rights. Tina believes that women need to lean on governments and corporations if they want to gain equality.
The summit is increasingly popular and this year saw the attendance of 2500 women from all over the world.
