In Entertainment news:
The play that goes on: The Film Awards Season, concluded Act II last night at the Bafta Film Awards with scenery now being shifted west to L.A. for its star-studded dénouement at the end of this month.
The ceremony took place at London's Royal Opera House and was hosted by Stephen Fry.
No longer an aseity, The Baftas is now considered to be an indicator (a sign even) of what might be in store at the Oscars on February 28th. With voting being currently open for the Oscars until the 23rd of this month, it could feasibly impact the final act itself.
So what of the results? Well it all appears to be focused on one actor with the associated question: is this the year that Leonardo DiCaprio gets his Oscar? He is though up against stiff competition with Michael Fassbender up for playing Steve Jobs and Eddie Redmayne going after a consecutive for Danish Girl.
Best Actress went to American Brie Larson for her role in Room; a film about a mother and son who gain freedom after being captive for seven years.
