Tom Daley will be saving his birthday cake until after the Olympic Games.
He told the hosts that he will have to save the celebrations, including the cake they presented him with, until after the Olympics.
Phillip said: ‘You might have to take it away and give to someone else because I don't know if you are allowed to eat it - but it is your eighteenth birthday today... Are you allowed to celebrate?’
Tom replied: ‘I'm not allowed to celebrate as normal eighteen year olds probably would but I'm going to save it for after the Olympics!’
Tom also revealed on the show that losing his father Robert to cancer in 2011 was one of the hardest things he has ever gone through.
Robert passed away in at the age of 40following a long battle with brain cancer but the diver says writing his autobiography Tom Daley: My Story helped him to cope because it gave him the opportunity to reflect on their life together and the experiences they shared.
‘In the book I go through all the pressures I had to go through’, he said. ‘It was a very sad time last year and it was obviously one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through and for me, writing the book was something that really helped me go back and look at all the memories that we had together and it kind of helped me get over that.’
