Karl Lokko is the Founder and Chairman of Black Seed, Europe’s first Black-led venture capital fund focused on backing Black founders. Based in Brixton, Black Seed is a £10M fund with a mission to connect capital with community and culture.

Raised on the Myatts Field Estate in South London, Karl experienced the impact of youth violence and inequality firsthand. After a pivotal intervention through a local youth project, he stepped away from gang life and began a new path—one that’s taken him from the streets of South London to boardrooms and global stages.

Over the past decade, Karl has advised high-profile individuals, businesses, and policymakers on equity, entrepreneurship, and inclusive leadership. He’s helped raise millions for UK charities and spoken at events including TEDx, Virgin Unite, and private leadership summits on Necker Island.

Karl speaks with clarity, empathy, and lived experience on topics such as inclusive ecosystems, underestimated founders, and the power of second chances. His ability to connect across industries and communities makes him a powerful and relatable voice in today’s conversations around change and opportunity.
