Matt Lucas

Matt Lucas is a comedian and awards host extraordinaire. 

Matt and David Williams brought the comedy series Little Britain to our screens and it is now one of the best known and most loved comedy series of our time. In 2020, he became the co-presenter of The Great British Bake Off.

Matt and his previous long-time collaborator David Walliams, originally worked up a routine around a character Sir Bernard Chumley, which Matt performed in 1994, 1995 and 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival.

He was talent spotted by Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves and went on to appear in their show, 'Shooting Stars', where he played George Dawes. He has since appeared in other major television work with them including 'The Smell Of Reeves and Mortimer', 'Bang Bang It's Reeves and Mortimer', and 'Randall and Hopkirk'.

Matt and David re-united on radio with the show 'Little Britain' which went from Radio 4 to BBC3 to terrestrial BBC. It became one of the most loved comedy series to come out of the UK for a number of years, and it won a number of BAFTA awards.

Since Matt has gone on to establish himself as one of the nation’s favourite comedy character actors, he has starred in Come Fly With Me, Doctor Who and the films of Alice in Wonderland.

Not just a performer, Matt Lucas also wrote for the Da Ali G Show, and of course Little Britain USA aired in 2008.

Matt took part in Shooting Stars in 2009, and in 2010 Matt presented And The Winner Is... on BBC Radio 2. 2007 saw Matt placed 7th in the UK’s list of the 100 most influential gay men by The Independent.

Matt’s natural charm and hilarious manner make him an ideal awards host to add glamour and wit to all kinds of live events.
