Innovation and Tech at Speakers Corner’s September 2015 Showcase with The Brewery

This event will take place on Tuesday 29th September at 6.30 pm at The Brewery, 52 Chiswell St, London EC1Y 6SD.

This September Speakers Corner teams up with The Brewery once again to bring you an evening of stimulating chat and thought-provoking speeches by some of the best orators on the corporate circuit.

Speaking around innovation and tech, Speakers Corner delights in welcoming former TV Dragon Piers Linney; broadcast journalist Misha Glenny and web psychologist Nathalie Nahai to the stage, to divulge thoughts, impart lessons and spread wisdom to our guests.

Piers Linney is a digital entrepreneur and former TV ‘Dragon’. He is a passionate businessman and Co-CEO of the world leading Cloud service provider Outsourcery plc. He offers a unique insight into technology innovation, big data, collaboration and cloud solutions based on his own experiences.

Misha Glenny is an international expert on cyber security and organised crime. He leaves no stone unturned (and no failed state unexamined) in his excavation of criminal globalization. As the BBC’s Chief correspondent from the Balkans during the war in the former Yugoslavia, Misha covered the socio-political challenges of the region and the fall of communism, from where he became an expert in organised crime.

Nathalie Nahai, futurist, Web Psychologist and best-selling author, is an innovation specialist who understands the trends and attitudes that impact the way we use the web. Her best-selling book Webs of Influence: The Psychology of Online Persuasion, is built upon her background in psychology, web design and digital strategy. Nathalie talks to businesses about how to apply scientific rigour to their design and decision-making processes to achieve better engagement online.

These fascinating speakers and their subjects will be brought together by host Kate Russell, a tech reporter who has been writing about technology, gaming and the Internet since 1995 and appears weekly on BBC2 and BBC World News, reporting for technology show Click. Kate’s first book, Working the Cloud, delivered a collection of online tips, tricks and resources for small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs. She has just published a dark-humour sci-fi novel based in the Elite game world called Mostly Harmless.
