Ade Adepitan is a renowned British television presenter and a wheelchair basketball player. Since presenting Channel 4's coverage of the Paralympics in 2012, Ade has become a household name and highly sought after motivational speaker. Drawing from his own personal experiences of adversity, success and teamwork, Ade can uplift and inspire an audience to ignite their passions and follow their dreams.
TV presenter and Olympic wheelchair basketball player Ade Adepitan is an inspiring motivational and sporting conference and keynote speaker . Surviving childhood polio has gifted Ade with the tools to uplift his audience on subjects such as adversity , success , peak performance and teamwork .
Ade has hosted shows including Xchange on CBBC and has reported for Sportsround and the travel show Holiday. He also appeared on the BBC One "Hip-Hop" ident as the lead dancer. In 2006 Adepitan appeared in BBC drama Desperados about wheelchair basketball.
Ade was a member of the Great Britain team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens and the gold medal at the 2005 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester. Ade also commentated on wheelchair basketball for the BBC at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
Ade was made a Member of the British Empire for services to disability sport in 2005. He is Patron of disability sport charity, WheelPower, who are based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympics.
Ade was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of the University, from Loughborough University in recognition of his outstanding services to, and performances in, disabled sport.
