Anita’s grown up around broadcasting, beginning her career with her own show on Sunrise Radio at the age of 14, going on to study Broadcasting at Leeds University and then becoming a TV researcher for the BBC and various independent companies.
In 20025, Anita joined BBC’s Asian Network as presenter of the weekend breakfast shows, as well as presenting the first three series of the BBC2 award-winning Asian cultural magazine show Desi DNA. This same year, Anita was nominated as Best on Screen Personality at the RTS Midlands awards.
Recognised for presenting Watchdog, Rogue Restaurants and Make Me White, Anita also fronts high-profile series including BBC One’s My Life At Christmas, Channel 4’s Aldi’s Next Big Thing and her latest documentary The Bronte’s by Anita Rani: Sisters of Disruption for Sky Arts.
Supporter of numerous charities close to her heart, Anita shows strong support for the Refugee Crisis. In 2016 she visited Zaatari Refugee camp in Jordan, sharing their moving stories in her two-part documentary The Refugee Camp: Our Desert Home on BBC Two.
An experienced and talented presenter, Anita’s hosted a plethora of corporate live events, including the Olivier Awards Red Carpet 2017 and 18’ and events for luxury brands.
Beyond broadcasting, her 2021 memoir The Right Sort of Girl became a Sunday Times Bestseller. Anita also serves as Chancellor of the University of Bradford and as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, and her passion for travel has led to her role as an ambassador for Discover The World.
