Comedian , comedy writer and 'crime fighter', Jo Caulfield is in regular demand as an entertainer, awards host  and after dinner speaker  at a wide range of corporate events.

Nominated as ‘Funniest Woman’ (LAFTA Awards), an acerbic intelligence underlies Jo’s hilarious stand-up material, and she regularly appears on Have I Got News For you, Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and The John Bishop Show.

She has had several series on Radio 4, including It’s That Jo Caulfield Again and Jo Caulfield Won’t Shut Up, and is a regular guest on Radio 5's Fighting Talk. In 2016, she toured her hugely popular ‘The Customer Is Always Wrong’ around the UK.

Jo is married to an Aberdonian and lives in Edinburgh which has given her lots of material for her show ‘Reply from the Lassies’. Amongst others, she has given her ‘Reply’ at the Microsoft Burns Night at Prestonfield House, The Historic Scotland Burns Supper at Stirling Castle and for The Association of Scottish Lawyers in London.

She has hosted numerous awards shows, including The Scottish Design Awards, The Boss Awards and The Scottish Licensed Trade Awards. She has also acted as a facilitator for a number of events including Oracle where she hosted a 3-day event, and she gives a fun and interactive talk on public speaking in business.

Born in Wales to Irish parents, Jo was brought up in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, and grew up believing the East Midlands was her oyster. At 17, she left home and moved to London to sing and play drums in a Rockabilly band. This was an unusual decision as Jo can neither sing nor play drums.

Jo has come a long way since her first open spot. To misquote the Human League, Jo was working as a waitress in an Italian Restaurant when she found herself drunkenly entering the weekly open mike competition at The Comedy Café in East London. Although she hadn’t prepared anything and could hardly stand, let alone speak, Jo won the competition and was asked back for a 10 minute booking the following week.

After being advised that regular compering was one of the best ways to improve as a comic, Jo saved her ‘waitressing tips’, bought a cheap microphone and a small amplifier, and opened her own comedy club in the basement bar of The White Horse in Hampstead. It was getting up on stage at her own club every week for 5 years that gave Jo her ability for bantering with the audience and improvising on their comments. As one critic put it, “It’s an amazing knack. Caulfield seamlessly weaves in and out of material and audience banter”.

Jo is in demand at all major UK comedy clubs, and has completed multiple nationwide theatre tours. Recent international performances include New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai.
