Ben Kay Supports Worthy Charity

26 September 2012

England Rugby World Cup winner and after dinner speaker Ben Kay  is supporting a charity which helps the children of fallen servicemen and women.

The second-row forward has become a patron of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which provides days out, gifts and holidays to bereaved families, and was set up by Nikki Scott, whose husband Lee was killed by a roadside bomb in Helmand province, Afghanistan, in July 2009, leaving her to raise their children alone.

Kay, who has won 62 caps for England, said: “I am so proud to become patron of Scotty’s Little Soldiers. It’s a charity that has occupied a lot of my thoughts since I first heard Nikki and her family’s story, and their bravery to start something so positive out of something so heartbreaking.”
