Entrepreneurs Jo Malone and Nick Leslau star in new BBC1 business series called High Street Dreams

11 May 2010

The first episode of a new television business series entitled High Street Dreams started last night with two highly successful entrepreneurs at the helm - business woman and entrepreneur Jo Malone, who built an iconic luxury fragrance brand starting out on her kitchen table and property tycoon Nick Leslau.

Offering advice to budding entrepreneurs who want to scale up their operation and bring their product to the high street and a mass market, Jo and Nick mentored an Indian family who made chilli sauce in their shed and two young farmers who were selling their gourmet burgers at farmers' markets in last night's episode.  They offer insight into branding, packaging, marketing and help their proteges pitch their products to a supermarket.

The Singh family (all 7 of them) successfully pitched to Asda and we discovered that Roland & Miranda Ballard's burgers are ideally suited to Waitrose customers.

During the course of the series industry experts, including Lloyd Grossman, Ben de Lisi, Stephen Webster and William Kendal, the brains behind the Green & Black branding, are on hand to offer further advice.

High Street Dreams is aired on Mondays at 9pm on BBC1.  Click here  for further information.
