Meet the Speakers Corner Finance Team

World Pi Day, not to be confused with actual pie (which we also love), but to celebrate the mathematical constant 3.14...

We thought a day dedicated to celebrating numbers is the perfect day to celebrate the people in our office whose lives revolve around numbers: our wonderful Finance Team!

We caught up with Moe and Paula to ask some quick-fire questions.

Moe

The next member of our finance team is number crunching and inquisitive, Moe. Living most of his life close to close to Arsenal FC, he is surprisingly a big Manchester United fan and equally loves playing and watch football. Recently being introduced to the world of gym and fitness, he has spent the better half of the year (outside of work) working towards fitness goals.

What do you love about Finance?

As a youngster I use to love math and money and ever since I got job my first internship working in the accounts department, I never looked back. While some people might find staring at a spreadsheet all day to be tedious, there is nothing I love more.

What is a little fun fact that people might not know about you?

I lived in Dubai for a year where I learned to speak Arabic to a very good standard.

Paula

The final member of our fab finance team is the first and only resident at Speakers Corner who hails from Glasgow, Paula. Growing up mad about Johnny Depp, Busted and rescuing as many stray animals as possible, she had an incredible 7 hamsters, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 4 beautiful goldfish at the peak of her craze. In addition to her love of animals, you can find her baking, at the cinema, or catching up on her favourite TV shows!

What’s your favourite thing about your role at Speakers Corner?

My favourite thing about finance is getting to work with such a fantastic team - Dani, Moe and Adaeze! I also love numbers...obviously. Nothing is open to interpretation, its either right or wrong and I love that!

What is a little fun fact that people might not know about you?

In my spare time I love cake making and entering the odd competition!

We love our Finance Team and can’t appreciate what they do enough! Crunching numbers, being spreadsheet gods and most importantly making sure the company’s finances are all taken care of. On a day that the world celebrates the mathematical constant Pi, we celebrate the constant dedication of our incredible finance department.
