Dave' Heeley completed a remarkable feat on Sunday by becoming the third person to ever run seven marathons in seven days in seven continents.
Heeley, who ran a marathon in Dubai's Safa Park on Friday, completed the London Marathon in five hours and 20 minutes, and was greeted at the finishing line by his wife, Debbie and daughters Dannie, Georgie Lee and Grace.
After completing his challenge, Heeley said, "I am the first blind person to do this. It's been a fantastic adventure and one I'm going to talk about for a long time."
Heeley ran a total distance of 295 kilometres in approximately 168 hours in his challenge, which he completed along with sighted running guide Malcolm 'Mac' Carr.
Over a one week period, he ran marathons in the Falkland Islands, Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, Sydney, Dubai, Tunis and London.
Heeley runs to raise awareness of diseases causing blindness and visual impairment and to generate funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind in the UK.
