Lisa Faulkner wins Celebrity Masterchef

25 August 2010

Lisa Faulkner, who is best known for her role in BBC drama, Holby City, cooked a winning three course menu of goats cheese and red onion tartlet, followed by monkfish and almond pannacotta for desert.

Lisa beat of competition from TV presenter Dick Strawbridge  and Christine Hamilton to be named Celebrity Masterchef and has been hailed as the best winner yet. She impressed judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace  with her 'natural touch and fantastic palate'.

She said: 'Before I did the show the most difficult dish I'd made was a Christmas cake. I'd never cooked lobster and my knowledge of seafood went about as far as cooking salmon.

'I'm really proud of myself. I've loved learning so much.'

She said the competition had been "extremely tough" and had taken her out of her comfort zone.

"I now cook all the time, I cook every day. If I'm stressed I go cook, I try things I've never tried before and I absolutely love it... I've just become obsessed with it."

She and her fellow finalists were confronted with numerous culinary challenges, including cooking for diners on the Orient Express and preparing food to Michelin Star standard for a group of top chefs.
