Niall Dunne, Chief Sustainability Officer at BT, supports the idea that ‘green’ is being replaced by blue, in marketing terms.
He believes that many ‘green’ campaigns are no longer using the colour to market the idea and that blue has instead become the environmentally friendly colour.
Niall states that “Green has kind of failed [as a movement], it has stayed niche, it’s a passive engagement model and its representative of ‘challenge’.”
Niall’s twitter handle for example is @bluNiall.
More and more companies are opting for the colour blue where green would normally be associated. Niall claims that it’s because businesses have realised they need a new platform for change.
