The Glasgow International Comedy Festival has recently announced the acts that will be appearing in this year’s festival, which is set to be its best year yet.
The festival is made up of a total of 416 shows displayed in 46 different venues and there are over 100,000 tickets to be bought. Some of the big names appearing this year include Miranda Hart, Hardeep Singh Kohli, Sarah Millican, Omid Djalili and Russell Kane.
Other names include Daily Show writer Paul Mercurio as the US stand-up showcase and Janeane Garofalo as one of the many international stand-up acts. Impressionist and comedian, Rory Bremner will be making an appearance at the festival to discuss the Scottish referendum, which takes places in September this year and is a hot topic in 2014.
The director of festival organisers at the Scottish Comedy Agency, Tommy Sheppard stated that ‘This is a big year for Glasgow, and for Scotland, and I’m delighted to say that we’ve got a programme which steps up to the mark. This is our biggest and most ambitious line-up yet and is set to do our city proud.'
