Louise Minchin

Broadcaster and Journalist Louise Minchin presented the UK’s most watched Breakfast programme BBC Breakfast for 20 years. She regularly hosts major award ceremonies, conferences and charity events. Louise has also guest-presented for the One Show; presented the BBC One series Real Rescues and appeared in Series 11 of Celebrity MasterChef. Louise’s passion is endurance sport and in 2020 she took part in a 100-mile hike across the Namibian desert for Sport Relief "The Heat is On" raising awareness of mental health. Louise is currently in the 2021 line up for ITV’s hit entertainment show “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”.

Louise Minchin is a well-known and respected Broadcaster and Journalist. Louise presented the UK’s most watched Breakfast programme BBC Breakfast on BBC One for 20 years.

Louise began her career by gaining a degree in Spanish at St Andrew’s University, Louise trained as a radio journalist at The London College of Printing. She started her career at the Latin American Section of the BBC World Service.

Before joining BBC Breakfast she was one of BBC News 24’s main anchors. Louise presents the BBC’s Triathlon coverage and has also guest presented The One Show.

As well as guest-presenting The One Show, where she has interviewed the likes of Will Smith, Joan Collins and Meat Loaf, she has also presented the BBC One series Real Rescues, Missing Live and Crime and Punishment.

She recently competed in Series 11 of Celebrity MasterChef, where she was able to show off her culinary prowess and win a place as runner-up in the final, and has also appeared in the Channel 4 history series Time Crashers.

On Radio, Louise spent many years presenting a host of different programmes on radio including Sport on Five, and Drive on BBC Five Live.

Louise’s passion is endurance sport. Having given up competitive sport as a teenager, after a BBC Breakfast Christmas cycling challenge she was inspired to attempt her first triathlon in 2013 and went on to qualify for the GB Team age-group team to race in Chicago in 2015.

In 2009, she was one of 12 celebrities who took part in the BBC’s Around the World in 80 Days. She travelled from Mongolia to Los Angeles with BBC Breakfast co-presenter Bill Turnbull to raise money for Children in Need.

Since then, she has raced in five World and European Championships and has gone on to compete in extreme triathlons including one of the toughest triathlons in the world, Norseman in 2019.

In February 2020 Louise took part in a 100-mile hike across the Namibian desert for Sport Relief "The Heat is On" raising awareness of mental health.

Louise is in the 2021 line up for ITV’s hit entertainment show “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”.
