Alex Jones: Awards Hosts & Presenters
TV presenter Alex Jones is the co-host of the BBC’s flagship programme The One Show. Alex's popularity grew when she was a semi-finalist on Strictly Come Dancing 2011 - ‘one of the best times of her life’. Confident, lively and vivacious, she makes an excellent awards host.
Alex Jones is an accomplished awards host and one of the nation’s favourite TV presenters, her vibrant personality has secured her place on the popular BBC programme, The One Show. Personable and good-spirited, Alex is the perfect choice for presenting all manner of events.
Beginning her career as a television researcher; she was asked by a producer to have a go in front of the camera and unwittingly so began her career as a TV presenter. Alex’s presenting debut was for BBC Choice, then following her roots, Alex stepped into a Welsh channel, SC4. She presented a variety of shows including Tocyn, an alternative travel series, Chwa a Welsh language extreme sport programme and Salon a style and fashion programme. In 2010 she hosted the Big Welsh Concert.
That same summer Alex landed the role that would make her career, as the co-presenter of The One Show, which she continues to present alongside Matt Baker and Chris Evans. Her role on The One Show led to her successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing in September 2011. Alex was fifth overall and as the nation tuned in every Saturday to watch her dancing, her popularity soared.
In addition to The One Show, Alex has also co-hosted the hugely popular Let’s Dance for Comic and Sports Relief, The Jubilee Celebration Coverage and The Royal Wedding. As well as volunteering herself for many physically testing challenges, increasing her ever-growing popularity from the nation.
Alex has also co-presented Glastonbury coverage and along with Steve Jones she fronted another great series of ‘Let’s Dance’. In March 2014, Alex participated in the Sport Relief appeal by climbing the 1200 ft Moonlight Buttress in Zion National Park, Utah in the US.
