Eamonn Holmes honoured by QUB

At this morning`s graduation ceremony, Eamonn Holmes was awarded an honorary Doctorate of the University for services to broadcasting.

Educated at St Malachy’s College and the Belfast College of Business Studies, where he qualified as a journalist, Eamonn Holmes  became the youngest-ever anchorman in the ITV regions when, at the age of 21, he became the host of UTV’s hour-long evening news programme ‘Good Evening Ulster’.   He has since become a fixture on television throughout the United Kingdom presenting breakfast televsion as well as prime time entertainment shows.
