The Comedy Collective 2017 highlights video:

Back by popular demand,  Speakers Corner's second comedy showcase, The Comedy Collective 2017, proved to be a brilliant night of sharing side-splitting laughs and delicious cocktails with some of our valued clients.

Check out our highlights from the evening by watching the video below!

A reminder of who made us giggle and guffaw on the night:

Hosted by  Russell Kane , our Comedy Collective this year was headlined by the brilliant Al Murray  and featured the hilarious  Ellie Taylor , Holly Walsh , Harriet Braine, Ali Cook  and Phil Wang .

Russell Kane (host)

Animated and charismatic, Russell Kane's win of the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy award, his sell-out global tours, and his appearances on prime time panel shows have cemented his place on the comedy circuit.

Filling the stage with frantic energy and verbose reflections, his sharp analysis of contemporary tropes is truly hilarious. Smart and slick, Russell’s comical neuroses and brilliantly depicted roleplays delightfully punctuated our showcase.

Al Murray (Headliner)

Best known as ‘The Pub Landlord’, Al Murray has been filling arenas around the world for over 20 years. Along with his nationwide sell-out tours, Al has starred in Live at the Palladium, the Royal Variety Performance, and his own series Al Murray’s Happy Hour.

This year, the nation’s favourite bar-based comic is on a mission to take his common sense campaign across the country with his hilarious takes on Britain’s biggest problems in ‘Let’s Go Backwards Together’.

Phil Wang

Since winning the coveted Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2010, Phil has made an impressive name for himself on the circuit with 3 solo stand-up shows and multiple international performances.

His deadpan observations on topics from race and relationships to current affairs never fail to leave his audiences roaring with laughter. With his ever-growing list of TV credits on the likes of Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You?, Phil is sure to be big news in no time.

Holly Walsh

An award-winning comedian and talented writer, Holly Walsh has previously been named Best Newcomer at the Chortle awards and appeared on a plethora of popular TV and radio panel shows.

Her engaging style exploits cultural talking points in a hilarious and pertinent way. Framing her quips in a chit-chat manner, once you unveil this veneer, it becomes clear that Holly is making some searing observations which can’t help but brilliantly build audience momentum.

Ali Cook

Dazzling audiences with his awe-inspiring talents and tricks of the mind, Ali Cook is an illusionist with a host of five-star reviews. He masterfully combines off-beat comedy and spectacular magic to make for a mind-blowing show.

Ali has headlined star-studded celebrity events, wowing the likes of J.K. Rowling and Damien Hirst with his daring dexterity. An entertainer who proves the impossible is possible, he amazed us all!

Ellie Taylor

You’ll recognise her from your guilty pleasure - BBC Three’s Snog, Marry, Avoid series. Ellie Taylor’s natural charm and insightful jokes have led her on to the great heights of 8 out of 10 Cats, The Nightly Show, Mock the Week and, not to mention, her own solo comedy gigs.

Oozing charisma and full of smart, self-mocking quips, Ellie’s comedic agility sees her command any stage. Both bright and bubbly, her relatable material won’t miss a beat.

Harriet Braine

Musical comedian and winner of Funny Women of the Year Awards 2016, Harriet Braine blends her talent for comedic lyrics with her penchant for art history, making for an extraordinary mix.

Winning Best Newcomer at the 2016 Musical Comedy Awards and reaching the final of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition at the Gilded Balloon, Harriet’s hilarious musical anecdotes about dead artists will have you waxing lyrical for her inspired lyrics.
