Karen Darke Stays Positive after Accident

20 August 2013

Paralympic cyclist and motivational speaker , Karen Darke  was hit by a car in Cumbria and the accident caused her to lose the feeling in her right arm.

Karen was paralysed at the age of 21, from the chest down after a climbing accident and has since become a Paralympic silver medallist road cyclist. She was out training for this year’s majors when the road accident occurred.

Since the accident, Karen has regained movement in her arm and is building strength pushing herself to get better. A spokesperson for Karen stated that even after the accident “Karen with an ever so optimistic and positive attitude towards life still battled on and concentrated on what is really important in life.”

After an impressive recovery, Karen is available again for speaking engagements.
