Sally Gunnell on Running and Motherhood

17 October 2012

Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell  has admitted that running helps her to be a better mum to her children. Inspirational speaker Sally still loves exercising and she sees running as a way to relax.

Sally, who won the Gold medal for the 400m hurdles in 1992, says “running helps me deal with the everyday stresses of being a busy mum to her three boys. It gives me a chance to focus on my own needs as well as escape, think and reflect, so I’m more able to cope with whatever life throws at me.”

She stresses that she no longer runs for gold medals but for “me-time”, she enjoys the freedom of being able to run without the competitive racing aspect.
