The Edinburgh Fringe, Russiagate, and Lessons From Top Athletes: Here's What We've Been Talking About This Month
In case you missed it, here is a handy round-up of everything we've been up to in August.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Every year, we send two lucky members of our team up to Scotland's capital to find the best new talent at the Edinburgh Fringe. This year, Matt and Dan were picked out of the hat to find the best up-and-coming comedians. After an exhausting and hilarious forty shows over two days, the duo returned with their top recommendations for the corporate scene.
August also saw the last bank holiday until Christmas, and pretty much our last chance to get the BBQ out before next summer. But before we can start looking forward to Christmas, one thing stands in our way… conference season! September, October and November are typically our busiest times of the year, so if you’re also starting to feel the pressure at work, don’t worry, the face of international women’s rugby, Maggie Alphonsi MBE, has got your back. She’s given us some sage advice for holding your nerves.
We opened up our little black book to invite some speakers to come and visit us during the long hot summer, and we were honoured to meet the co-founder and President of the Women’s Equality Party, Catherine Mayer, and the incredibly funny and motivational speaker Nigel Risner. We post highlights of all the speakers who come into our office on Instagram, so make sure following us. Seriously. Go follow us now. Have you done it yet?
The Knowledge Guild Is Back
If you thought just getting our newsletter was exciting enough, then I really hope you’re sitting down for this… Our famous Knowledge Guild speaker showcase event is coming back! Clear your diary for the evening of the 22nd October. More details to be announced soon, but this one is going to be great – we promise.
Former MI5 intelligence officer and famed whistleblower, Annie Machon, discusses Russiagate and the broader political context which Russia fits into.
"Hasn’t it been nice over the last month to see the scary unknown just slightly fading further into the back of your mind?"
Our MD, Nick, has penned his latest piece in the Huffington Post on the annual Parliamentary break.
If we aren't working, we're eating cake. So please help us keep in shape this winter by giving us a call.
If you have an event on the horizon then drop us a line and we'll scour our 7,500+ speaker database to help you meet your objectives.
