The Power of Public Speaking | The Week That Was

24 January 2020

We believe in the power of public speaking. It’s the vehicle that sparks inspiration at events and motivates people to aspire and achieve beyond their wildest dreams.

That’s why we love attending events hosted, featuring and energised by some of the wonderful people in our book of contacts.

Discover the motivational speakers, comedians, and even ‘mompreneurs’ that shared their amazing stories with us this week, and who can inspire your next events.

Lurata Lyon

Lurata Lyon was only 18 years of age when Yugoslavia was torn apart by war. Caught up in the horrors of war, Lurata shared with us her incredible story of resilience and how public speaking helped transform her life.

A heroic journey of survival, Lurata has now carved a path to success by inspiring and leading people to break their own barriers. We were inspired!

Kevin Bridges

Aged just 17, Kevin Bridges walked on stage for the first time in a Glasgow comedy club and brought the house down. This Tuesday Kevin had the room laughing as Natalia and Abbie enjoyed his inventive observations of society and his life in Glasgow.  Joined by Nico Yearwood, Russell Hicks, Maureen Younger, and Ray Badran, it was a thrilling night of comedy!

Solvej Biddle

'Mumpreneur' and motivational speaker Solvej Biddle joined us on Thursday to share her journey of how she left life as an advertising lawyer to create baby-wear products for Dragons Den and beyond.

From inception to selling out her innovative Tray Kit on Dragons Den, discover how she brought her ideas to life and how she motivates others to realise they're dreams too!

The Graham Norton Show

Abbie and Sophie attended an exciting taping of The Graham Norton Show this week. Checking out the big red couch with Emma Thompson, Hugh Laurie, Robert Downy Jr, Sara Bareilles, Terry Gilliam, and comedian Stuart Goldsmith, who was witty and creative with his sharp observational comedy.
