Rupert Pennant-Rea
An economist, journalist, central banker and businessperson, Rupert Pennant-Rea has enjoyed a varied career who discusses finance and economics as a knowledgeable and impressive keynote speaker. He has been Editor of The Economist and Deputy Governor of the Bank of England; was chairman of Henderson Group plc; and is now chairman of the Royal London Group.

Born and brought up in Zimbabwe, Rupert read economics at Trinity College, Dublin and the University of Manchester. He has been Editor of The Economist and Deputy Governor of the Bank of England.
Rupert is now chairman of Henderson Group plc, a fund management company based in London. He is also on the Board of British American Tobacco, Gold Fields Ltd, and various other public and private companies. He is Chairman of the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Rupert has spoken at management conferences for many of the world’s leading companies, including IBM, General Electric, Citibank, Philip Morris, British Telecom, McGraw-Hill and Xerox. His speeches cover the major economic, financial and political themes.
